Survived by wife of 53 years, Vicki; children, Lori (Tom) Contini and Rebecca Murphy; grandchildren, Ashley, Melissa, Eric Jr., Jimmy and Lotus; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Holly; brothers, Richard (Myra) and Charles (Phyllis); numerous other family and friends. Family will receive friends at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 2693 W. Broad St., Saturday, 12Noon-2 p.m. with memorial service to follow at 2 p.m.

CHILLICOTHE: Dorothy Pauline Poling, 92, of Chillicothe, passed from this life early Thursday morning, January 5, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born August 19, 1919 in Jackson, Ohio, the daughter of Frank E. and Virginia (Birch) Ervin. On June 21, 1940 she married Paul E. Poling who preceded her in death in 1977.

NEW LEXINGTON: Michael "Mike" Ervin, 53, of New Lexington, passed away Tuesday July 12, 2011 at the Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster.

He was born October 7, 1957 in Nelsonville the son of Algean Bishop Ervin-Flynn and the late Dwane Ervin.

He was a line mechanic for Crown Cork and Seal in Lancaster. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved animals, especially his dogs and enjoyed raising his gardens.

CENTERVILLE — Mollie Louise Ritter, 79, of Centerville, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011 at Centerville Nursing & Rehab in Centerville.

She was born the daughter of David B. and Lena (Besse) Ervin on Nov. 6, 1931 near Cincinnati. She graduated from the Cincinnati Community Schools.

On May 8, 1954, Mollie Louise was united in marriage to Robert Ritter in Cincinnati. She worked for a time at McGraw-Edison in Centerville and would later do home health aide work in and around Appanoose County.

John L. Ervin, 77, of the Iowa Veterans Home, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6 at Cincinnati United Methodist Church in Cincinnati. He will be laid to rest in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Iowa. Visitation will be Monday, April 5, 2010, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for John and his family.
