John L. Ervin, 77, of the Iowa Veterans Home, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6 at Cincinnati United Methodist Church in Cincinnati. He will be laid to rest in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Iowa. Visitation will be Monday, April 5, 2010, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for John and his family.

Following an illness of heart trouble and dropsy, Mrs. Nancy R. Ervin died at her home in Hemlock Grove Sunday evening.  The deceased was 82 years of age and is survived by her husband George Ervin, and five children: Mrs. Sadie Butterfield of Oklahoma, Mrs. Mayme Barnhill of Marion, Mrs. Alma Young, Mrs. Alice Reed of Pomeroy and one son Oscar at home.  Two brothers, Smith and James Clark of Hemlock Grove also survive.

Virginia Lee Ervin, 66, of Shawnee, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the home of her daughter.

She was born May 6, 1944 in Colgate, Ok the daughter of the late Edmund Paul and Lydia Barthule VanMeter.

She was a 1962 graduate of Sheridan High School, former employee of Ralston-Purina and a member of Shawnee Eastern Stars Bluebell Chapter 151.
